SoCal Vintage meet

Post by 365gtc/4 »

I will come all the way from Australia to attend if I get a ride in Tom Wilson's GTE !! Maybe Tom could load it onto a trailer for an outing just to prove he does have a car, and I am sure the GTE would enjoy the outing having been locked up inside a garage for so many years.

Hi John,

It's funny you mentioned Tom's car. It's slated to make an appearance! We're hatching a plan right now. It'll be a great Before/after comparison with Scott's car.

We're also planning a great drive on Sunday, so it might be worth your trip!

Maybe you could get Zac to change his name to Tom just to clear up any confusion? :)

I don't think Zac would ever want to be mistaken for a "Tom!"

4247 is on the Move!

Post by Tom Wilson »

Zac Dugger came by yesterday and took the car to Oceanside! He helped me get the wheels on temporarily (it rolls, but no brakes!) and we got it on the trailer. It will be at TITYCG2CSCPHBDP (The Innugual Tomyang.net/250GTE.com So. Cal Party hosted by DGR Performance) on July 10. It will be along side Scott Oshry's award winning GTE (restored by Zac) so that it can be the subject of a series of "How do we get there from here" discussions from various vendors. Come on by and join Rudy in giving me crap for not having it running yet..

And John, I have done my part, so buy that ticket!

Gee Tom you missed a great photo opportunity. With the wheels on a photo taken from a particular angle would look like your car was finished. All you needed to do was push the old girl out onto the road, sit in the drivers seat grinning out the side window and Zac could have taken a photo. Post that photo with the caption "Car finished and on the road". That would have got the crowd LAUGHING. Make sure you take a shot like that down at Zacs place. Also make sure you do take the before and after photos of the beer drinking as well, after the drive of course. This "show" is a great idea. You guys will have fun.

John - Grab an airline ticket and you can sit in the passengers seat for the photo.. I will even supply the beer! When you think about it, an airline ticket to the US would probably be the cheapest Ferrari related item you have ever purchased. I can vouch for the fact that traveling to meet folks in this hobby is the best investment I have made yet.

So who other than John is coming from this site? So far I know of Tom Y, Zac, Dave Booth, Yale and ??? We got a lot of people and cars coming, but the ones I most want to meet are from TomYang.net. Come on down!

Just as a note to all the Out of Towners looking for a place to stay while here I am suggesting the Park Hyatt in Aviara, http://www.parkaviara.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp. Very nice place with great rooms and secure parking, only ten miles from the shop too. If anyone needs a less expensive option I have those too.
