Can anyone out there tell me if the front brake caliper mount is supposed to be plated or painted? I am refering to the casting/forging to which to front brake caliper cylinders attach.

I believe Cad plating is correct. Can anyone confirm?

Yes, Cad plate. A piece of advice before you send it out for plating, make sure the steel is super clean with all the rust removed with media blasting. This will insure the plating sticks well to the metal.
