But why placing a radio which cannnot be heard during driving?
Your picture shows dash of 0943/GT, it is the only one I know with radio deleted in favor of an extra long glove box. FWIW, you can listen top the radio while the mrs is shopping. Best wishes, Kare
No Kare , I must protest,
I am not a chassis number man , but this is a serie 2 PF coupe or cabrio. ( No off set gear box).
I must dig in my foto files and could find at least 10 more. but maybe an other time.

Another question, what is the grab handle made of on your car? 1747 has a weaved cloth material. Do you think this is original? How about you Kerry? What do you have?

Thanks.

Tom
Tom , this original grip can be found on the last page of the Partmanual of pininfarina F250.
But not all cars got them ,
Its an odd part, don't suits at all in this cool, funtional ,and straight interior. IMO
those handles can be found on PF-models of Lancia ,Alfa beginning at about 1947.
looks very old fashion but weaved is correct.
The last one I found was on a Peugeot 404 PF coupe produced in the mid 60th !
However they also deliver an leather stong metalfeet grip which was place ON the dash in front of co- pilot
See pics.
The dash was ALWAYS black leather or vinyl and the uppermetal panel of the doors ALSO !
Now adays a lot people have painted them to match the exterior color thats not correct ,
If Keith B.( FCA judge and orthers) has problem with this they can call.
Kerry, I hope you dont need to repaint. If it was not a bare metal respray, you must find black traces.

Hi Cornelis,

Thanks for confirming the overhead grab handle. Another thing I noticed was a block off plug on the center switch directly under the steering wheel. We had a extraneous switch mounted there that I deleted, but am wondering what was originally there. Your picture of the car with the red interior shows a block off plug over the center hole as well...

The previous owner of the car is on FerrariChat fairly regularly-- you could ask him about the screw heads.

Guys
Not realy important but knowbody picked-up my statement that the toppanels on the

Not even Kerry,
dissapointment here all over the place.
Are you all lost interest in this org. details ?

I think it is very educative to look back into 80's. At that time stripping bumpers and redoing every Ferrari in red/tan was the way a Ferrari deserved to be restored. Vignales used to look particularly awful...

In 30 year's time we'll be laughing at those Dunlop stickers and other nonsense... and sighing how little we knew about certain things. In that time "conservation" has turned into just another swear word just like "restoration" before it. I wonder what the next marketing word for the process will be...

Best wishes, Kare

Hi Cornelis. Sorry to say that you are wrong. Top of doos and A pillars being black is not the rule. Some cars, not all, were like as you say. My door tops still wear the factory paint.

One day, on removing a door top cap I found a hand written note by the gent that restored the car (around 1990) stating that he purposely did not restore those trim pieces as testement to the car's original color. Later when I spoke with him, he said Pininfarina records indicated that 1381GT was the only PF coupe in "Grigio Moderno" and he wanted to leave a true refernce to that color. He bought the car in 1978 in original guise.

I took a very close look at the door pieces to see if there was any signs of black paint. 1747 was never repainted, and when you look at the back side of this moulding, you can see the trim is original.
Image
Original felt strip secured with Phillips Head Screws. Most restorers use pop rivets when these pieces are replaced. Also, replacement felt strip does not look like this.
Image
Another "90" for the PF assembly number.
Image
Another original detail is this felt strip glued to the inside of the door to isolate cap piece.

I don't doubt earlier cars may have had all their door caps painted black, but perhaps Pininfarina started painting cars body color with the Series II PF coupes?

No, I am very familiar with # 1583,# 1889 , #1913.
All S2 PF-coupes
they all had black A-pillars and top door panels.
#1747 is in between.
Will be an difficult issue.
