Thanks Tom for the wonderful pictures. Is the red survivor car with the odd gas fillers some model of Lancia? Glad to see that Dave brought 1747 all the way from south Florida. My old girlfriend looks terrific.

Ed - Dave is taking good care of your old girlfriend. He is a good guy and loves the car, so you can rest easy. As for the survivor car, I consulted my mentor Zac and found it to be a Fiat 8V.

No Alfa photos yet Tom
Great bunch of photos - love the Lambo in the bunker...which iron should he use to get it back on the fairway? :D

Looks like we missed a good weekend. We got rained on at the Nurburgring last weekend for the Oldtimer Grand Prix meeting, so couldn't make Monterey this year - hopefully back there in a year or two! In the meantime, keep posting the pics - I'm jealous!

Cheers

Thanks for uploading the pics ! Nice camera work.
And a big hand for Tom Y...... for organizing a splendid event. As much as I enjoyed looking at the trophy wives of the Lambo owners...this year's venue was elegant and very scenic. Not to mention the fact that everyone got a sneak peak at the cars of the Quail.

Old and new friends were in abundance, and I even got to exercise my French with Marcel ! Safe travels back to everyone.

The survivor car in question was a Fiat 8V, now it's a Fiat/Chevy (with a Chevy straight six)...

If you haven't been to Laguna Seca during Concours week, you just don't know what you are missing. Car fans of all types bring cars of all types and duke it out on some prime California real estate. If you like straight-aways, there are bleachers, but the real fun comes from sitting in the dirt at the corners or walking the pits to see what you can find.

This year, Jaguar's were the featured Marque. The three below set the pace from the beginning and finished 1-2-3

What a week!!!!!!! lots of great cars and great people. I drove the 550 Maranello up and back, it was also the official support vehicle all weekend so even the two seat ferraris have some use :-) Thanks to Tom Yang for putting on a first class event and bringing such a great group of people together, I was able to spend a few minutes there before having to run off to dinner. Great to connect with some old friends, meet new ones and put some names to faces.

Special thanks to Michael Bayer for being my wingman all weekend and helping me get my friend Jim's Dino to and from the various events and for sweet talking the judges to get us back on the list to be judged. Michael is an exceptional Gentleman and it is my extreme pleasure to call him a friend, we had a great time in Monterey and thanks to his generosity with both his time and his tickets we had a blast at all the events.

Here are a couple of my favorites from Pebble, I didn't even take a real camera with me this year sine the pro photographers always do such a great job.

Here are a couple more from Monterey, Tom Wilson posted the picture of my friend Jim's Dino 246 GTS in the after phase but here it was before. Also here is Jim's new to him XK 140MC bought at RM auctions, Michael Bayer and I helped him finish up the paperwork. I followed Jim and Michael in the Dino back to the hotel in Carmel Valley at 1:30 in the morning only to wake up at 5 on Sunday to be part of the dawn patrol at Pebble.

Zac You are too kind, but make the point that on the surface Pebble week seems all about the cars but in fact its mostly about the biggest gathering of terrific gear heads on the planet. One picture that is not here and worth finding is Peter Mullen's simply amazing Voisin which won top honors, in all of my years at Pebble it was the first car that when I saw it I was certain it would win Thanks to Zac Tom Tom Wilson Scott Jim Dave Olympi and dozens of others for another great week "...generally messing around with cars..."! I did post one picture of the Voison on the main stage after all the smoke from the fireworks had dispersed, as soon as I saw the car and it's incredible interior I knew it would be on the short list fir best of show. Thanks to Ferrari FNA for their hospitality room overlooking the stage and for feeding us the most amazing food.

One of the other incredible experiences was when the driver of the Sterling Moss 300 SLR pegged the throttle and did a 50 yard burn out right in front of Michael and I. Not to be disparaging to Ferraris but that SLR is one of my favorite race cars of all time
