New Shop

Post by zac »

Because Tom Wilson mentioned it in the Monterey updates thread I will post of couple teaser pictures of the new building. This is the showroom and customer lounge area but there is lots of construction and painting to do both here and in the shop area . It has been a couple years in the works to find a proper place that will allow me to provide the proper location for service and restorations along with a nice showroom for people to enjoy the beauty and share the passion of vintage Ferraris that we all have. More details will follow and we are hoping to plan an open house when the building is completed sometime in the late fall.

Yes the awful orange and yellow will go as we do our decorating, time for me to start collecting artwork and goodies to fill the walls.

I can see it set up like a stage where each car is on display as the guys work on the cars. Maybe Tom's GTE will get its own section of stage!

Good luck with the new shop Zac. I wish you all the luck!

Thanks Guys, I don't want to turn Tom's site into a place to hawk my wares I just wanted to share. John I still remember the shorts you wire to Pebble the year the Admiral's Mondial was there so I could gave guessed you would like the colors:-) my tastes are a little more subtle.

The main thing I would like to accomplish it to have a place where I can do my work but also a place that anyone can come by and enjoy the cars anytime. I always hear the stories from the generation before me in the days when kids could visit there local exotic car store and see these strange beautiful Italian machines. With any luck if enough of us make a serious effort to introduce the next generation to the cars they will gain an appreciation and the cars will not fall by the wayside of the modern era if computerized disposable machines.

Thanks for the best wishes

Tom Y. I have been reading your travel stories and have been there many times. Last year on the way to Cavallino I filled my carry on with spare parts for the GTE. The first TSA screener was not amused but luckily there was a Ferrari show across from te airport the day before and the head security officer had attended so bought my "they're Ferrari part" story. I think Josh was telling one time he checked an entire Daytona trasaxle in two suitcases to Canada for a last minute fix. Whatever it takes!!

I've been turned down by TSA (had to go back and check my carry-on) for having a couple of lead hammers.

I fully agree,
that are the colors of the 60th.
here some sugestions for the walls ( see below)
I think that air circulalion pipes on the ceiling can be made functional to let the engines run wíthout dying
on CO poisening,
NO, I do not own a museum.
GOOD luck and a lot of SUCCES.

Zac, love the new digs. BTW, thanks for the con rad. I ended up using just the cap and it had to be shaved down quite a bit.

Zac's lucky that we live so far away. Maybe that was part of his decision to put the shop where it is!

Bryan, after the amount of Ferrari enjoyment you and your dad have let me share in with the Mondial you have earned a lifetime of hanginng out on weekends and bugging me all you want. Hopefully the next time you are on the Right coast we can put you to work.

John B. I could only hope you would drop the Koalas and come to Cali once and a while to play with cars with me, or we could just make Cavalinno an annual event. I am still waiting for the invite on Fighting Irish to go from Miami to San Diego through the Panama canal:-)

Ed any poster or artwork would be greatly appreciated and displayed proudly, for years I have collected all kids of artwork and stuff and never had a spot to put it all

John V. glad you were able to make some thing work for your engine

thanks everyone for the best wishes

Cavallino was certainly a great time this year and maybe we should make it an annual event. I will try to get Fighting Irish to be available again. Pity you guys couldn't make the trip on her down to Miami. It was fab. Nice boat or should I say ship?
I am definitely coming over for the Monterey week next year, as the Americas Cup trials should be on as well. I will swing by Oceanside to check out the new digs. I also have a few owners wanting those bloody Koni ride levellers fixed but don't worry a C4 owner up in the Bay area has access to a pro workshop there where I can wrestle with those monsters.
Can't wait to see your finished shop. I hope it is a great success for you.
