Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder Banjo Fitting
I believe some Alfa Romeo and Fiat (124) cars used these same parts, you might want to widen your search to include these cars. Hope this helps!

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder Banjo Fitting
I looked at alfa parts on the web and also Fiat 124 parts, but could not find anything similar to the Ferrari part.
If I can find a proper female fitting for the end of the hose, I may just screw it into to a piece of brass machined to
accept the female fitting and machined to have the banjo bolt slide through. Any suggestions along these lines?

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder Banjo Fitting
Maybe the part number is off by one? 94957 - CLUTCH SLAVE BANJO BOLT 12X30 1.25, 275GTB/S, 330GT/C/S. Is that what you're looking for?
If so Rutlands has them for $28.00

Don't know if it's the correct one, but Ferrparts claims to have this part number.

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder Banjo Fitting
T308: Thanks again for your effort. I phoned ferrparts today. They said to wait
while they looked around for an hour. I phoned them back, and they said that they
did have the banjo fitting a week or two ago, but that they had sold it!
Any more ideas?!!!
Anyway, thanks again, close but no whatever_it_is.

If you get in a pinch this may work. Take a look at #9

I am sure I have seen it on a British car before, I just do not remember which one. If you do a search on Moss Motors web site you will find they have a lot of banjo fittings. It may be best to send them a photo and ask them if they recongize it. Since the brake systems were British, there is a good chance it will cross referance to a British car.
Cheers Jim

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder Banjo Fitting
I ran across an ad on ebay (Item number: 110780870206) for the rear wheel cylinders for a Mercedes Benz 300SL Roadster which appeared to have the same banjo fitting. As MB has great record keeping and part catalogs, this may be an option.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into it. But I have seen brake banjo fittings and the differ from the proper clutch slave fitting in two ways:giovanni44 wrote:I ran across an ad on ebay (Item number: 110780870206) for the rear wheel cylinders for a Mercedes Benz 300SL Roadster which appeared to have the same banjo fitting. 1. The hose thread is 12 X 1.00 rather than 12 X 1.25.
2. The hole for the banjo bolt is larger than 12 mm, and it is straight. This requires a banjo bolt that has shoulders at either end
with a smaller diameter in between the shoulders. This makes the space for the fluid to flow about the recess in the bolt. The clutch slave
banjo bolt is a straight 12mm all along its length. Its fitting has a wider channel in the middle with narrower entrance and exit holes to
match the straight 12 mm banjo bolt. The wider channel inside the fitting is what allows the fluid to flow. This is akin to the way the
banjo bolts and fittings on the fuel lines work.

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder Banjo Fitting
Since I could not find the fitting, I (with some help) made one. I bought a brass cylinder and turned down one end where the hose nipple will screw in:
I cut off the piece at 2.00 inches, drilled and tapped a hole for the hose nipple. I extended the hole with a #22 drill for the fluid to pass to a yet to be made grove, and turned the end flat.
I then gave the result to a friend who used a mill to machine the flat areas for the banjo bolt to pass through. He also drilled the hole for the bolt and did a beautiful job making the part round.
This photo shows a rod that I made to put in a tailstock chuck to align the part so that (with a little shim) I could clamp it in the lathe's three jaw chuck. I made a boring tool to cut a grove for the fluid to flow around and back and forth into the banjo bolt. Photo of the finished fitting on the next reply, I hope.
