NOS Koni Self Leveling Shock for Sale

Post by TOMKIZER »

Thanks, Tom, for permitting me to post this.

Since my Queen is gone, I no longer need insurance, so I'm making this New (at least unused) Koni self-leveling shock available. I expect that the shock that I have is one of the last, so I would rather see it go directly to a sagging Daytona, Queen or C4 than to an Ebay speculator.

It's still in the original box, although the box is pretty rough after sitting on the shelf for 20 years and moving from the U.S. to Canada. I bought it in about 1990 from Maranello Concessionaires because one of my Queen's shocks showed some wetness on the shaft and I was afraid if I waited, I would never find a replacement. They were already getting rare. After buying it, I waited for mine to fail, but it never did. In fact, after wiping off the oil, it never reappeared.

I'm asking $1200 for it, since those rebuilding them are asking $2200 to rebuild a pair.

The part number on the box and important stampings on the body are shown in the photos. It has never been installed and the rubber/soft plastic boot still has a light coat of that sticky cosmoline-like protectant on it.

Hey Tom:

I think you should frame that baby and hang it above the fireplace.....................................................
No, wait, build a Ferrari pogo stick around it, bring it to Monterey and hop around in the pits for a better view.

Cheers

Good morning
Not posted for a while but alerted by Mike Meehan to very interesting post by Tom Kizer.
The rear load leveller that Tom has is in fact correct for a GTC4 (7100-1012) & the correct
one for the Queen is 7100-1004.
Regards from the UK to all for a Happy & Healthy New Year

That's an interesting observation. I noticed the difference in the 365 GT 2+2 parts book, but since Maranello Concessionaires sold it to me to replace the one in my Queen, I assumed it was just an interchangeable but "improved version" for the C4, and maybe even the Daytona.

Since I never used it, I never encountered a problem. Thanks, Dr. Levy.
