166 inter

Post by Michael Bayer »

Guys: I have just about completed work on my 330GT, # 9727, and am looking for car number two. I am thinking about a 166 inter. This is not my "STOP ME BEFORE I RESTORE AGAIN!!!" scrawled on the bath mirror, I know full well the vintage driving characteristics of this era car. But, from the "greasy bits" angle, has anyone out there had their hands on one of these? Is this madness or wisdom? I doubt there are any project cars left and I am more likely to end up w someone else's restoration. Michael Bayer

Hi Michael,

Let's see, small cars, little engines, rare parts,...what's not to love?

...but seriously, I think the answer comes from a thread from last week. You buy and restore what you're passionate about, not what someone else deems good, or practical.

Tom

P.S. Congratulations on finishing the 330. How about some pictures to share with the rest of us?

I don't see any pics of your ride in the Gallery. Don't make me get the nuns or the rulers!

What have you decided about the 166?
Only horse I've ever ridden was attached to a stick

Michael, Full Disclosure: We bought our 330 GT #8325 from the following gentleman: Nick Soprano at Motor Classic and Competition in White Plains, NY (Westchester County), may be of assistance in your search. I know that in the past he offered similar models. He is in the vintage and classic Ferrari business over 20 years and he races a 250 TdF in the Ferrari Historic Challenge. His website is www.motorclassiccorp.com. You can see his advertisemnets in Forza, Classic & Sports Car, etc. His tel no. is 914-997-9133. Judy is his assistant. Any questions, please call me or email me.
