color of extractor vents
color of extractor vents
Body color. The chrome is too much "bling" for the car to my mind....but i will stand out and have all the punters guessing!

I think the chrome looks great. I agree that it visually breaks up the black. If it were mine, I would not change it.

Plus one on the chrome. I'm not into bling, but I think it looks quite good with the black. I'm not sure it would work as well with lighter colors.
Re: color of extractor vents
There about 20 330 GTs with chrome vents. Most are black 4HL cars.
Here's some pictures of other colors. And finally, a 2HL with the different vent style.

I kind of dig it; a little homage to a 250 Cal.

Re: color of extractor vents
5 or so GTEs have the same treatment, but there is no way to know if it was ordered special from the factory or done later, until someone comes up with a receipt showing one way or another. I think it works on some paint colors and not others. I do like it on the black. Kind of disappears on the light blue and silver, though.
Re: color of extractor vents
The chromed vent looks real good on a black 330GT. I think much of it comes from the 3-slot design, which is more like a trim piece compared to panel like louver design on 250GTE/early 330. Keep it! Keep it! Keep it!
Re: color of extractor vents
I agree. The louvered one piece panels don't seem to work as well.kare wrote:The chromed vent looks real good on a black 330GT. I think much of it comes from the 3-slot design, which is more like a trim piece compared to panel like louver design on 250GTE/early 330. Keep it! Keep it! Keep it!

It is body color, but the restorer didn't remember how the car goes together!
Published in Owen's 4-Seaters book: At first I thought the image was reversed, but the registration plate reads correctly. By 1998, a picture of the other side shows the vents installed correctly, so I don't know if they screwed up the one side, or someone fixed them correctly.Regards, Kerry

Those vents are a bear to put back in when they're not marked when disassembled, but those pictures are pretty funny!
GTE vents get installed backwards often!
