5-speed transmission silent block

Post by Suebian330 »

My transmission rubber silent block is pretty worn and needs replacement, (#8741). Unfortunately in the parts manual I cannot find the part number because sketches only show the earlier 4speed, which has a different support.
Does any body know the Ferrari part ID?
Does anybody know a source for this rubber part (preferred a source in europe to avoid customs).

The 5 speed transmission in your car (8741) was also used in the 365 2+2, so that car's early parts manual shows the part.

I've created a 'late' 330 GT parts manual that has pages from various sources like that manual, 330 GTC, 275 GTB, etc. where the pages also apply to a late 330 GT. This manual is available for a free download to registered owners (which you are one).

Anyway, it is a RIV part, 88.114.241.
From McCann's website:
101618 GEARBOX MOUNT SILENTBLOC 12X25X38MM LONG, 365GT 2+2 (RIV # 88114241)(NLA) $36.00
Rutlands:
101618 RIV BUSHING 12x38 ID 25x35 OD $72.65

Kerry,

you are really an expert and I honour your great help you supply to beginners like me with these outstanding V12´s.
Thanks for your detailed information, which brings me one step forward.

btw I have downloaded all the manuals already but I did not think about a later model (365) which has the similar tranmission.
Thanks also for your free download service!

Dear all,

after a longer interruption at my Gt300 Series2 #8741 I tackled my problem of the transmission. Due to vibrations from the rear axle/transmission shaft I spotted a week transmission support as one of many reasons for the vibrations.(balancing of shaft not wet checked). As the rear axle is out I decided to pull the gear box. In advance I ordered the rubber bush according to the below recommendations from Gt 365 part list, 5-speed box. After having the gear box out I saw in detail that the support was heavily worn.
After removal of the old bush I found a bore with diam. 16/50mm ID/OD but the recommended bush is: 101618 GEARBOX MOUNT SILENTBLOC 12X25X38MM LONG as also shown on the exploded scetch of parts manul. I can not see any other bushes, sleeves on the scetch going into the diameter 50mm bore. I am sure one of you experts can clear this issue, see pics

My gearbox is original as stated in the built sheet .
