Horn button ferrari 1948-1952 ?
Re: Horn button ferrari 1948-1952 ?
Will not bother you all more with this thread.
But one thing must be said.
For those who drive REAL classic rallies and races.
Do not use an old nice looking woodensteering wheel.
Those wheels can act like scapping ammunition in a frontal crash.
believe it or not
I did need in 1999(Classic marathon "Targa Espana") two hours to relieve a rallydriver to find all the wooden chips out of his face.
without Ultracain forte.
A "new" wheel will be much saver.

Re: Horn button ferrari 1948-1952 ?
Which Momo is that Cornelius? The Momo collector value thing is getting pretty heated up I notice. Don't you think it messes up the look, especially on the 2 + 2's which aren't race cars? It's like those 2 + 2 owners with super fat racing seatbelts, it feels presumptuous. Better to just not crash. And please continue with your horn button expositions I am really enjoying it.
Ex - 1964 330GT #6097
1963 Abarth Monomille
1970 Porsche 911S
1974 BMW 2002turbo

Yale, if you had seen that face ,you would understand my advice.
"Don't you think it messes up the look"
safety first.
Steve- Daytona-Meltser schould reconized this old org. wheel.
Its taped several times, as you can see, but it looks much better IMO than the Mr Fiat`s wheel
from coast to coast
thanks

Re: Horn button ferrari 1948-1952 ?
Here some more little details
the inside of the hornbutons shows a copper disk not brass.
this make sensens the contactpin in the column has the same material.
the design of the org. older(silver) pre 1950 ?? is more square than the later 1951-56 org. yellow button.
the man who build most replica Ferrari wheels is on the last pic below.

Re: Horn button ferrari 1948-1952 ?
After doing some research of those silver background.
at last I found a good example of 1949.
Its clearly a bit oxidized 3/4 view of 0064m
I am Still wondering why the 1947 oldest known car has this full metal button,
Maserati and Mercedes already had there own little logo here.
But its only a guess.
The almost similar full metal button I could found is one on the 1941 alfa 8C.

Re: Horn button ferrari 1948-1952 ?
If this is a metal full working button-1947 cars- and not an ornament.
I suppose you must get a little 12 volt schock, or am I wrong?
mine electric know- how is limited.
the last pic will not be appreciate here but is necessary.

Re: Horn button ferrari 1948-1952 ?
On special request contribution of horn buttons again
seems no logo then on very first cars
However this are all especial bodies, could be change at work.
These looks very sad.
Racecars with a horn is not logical to me.
ciao
pic from "making the difference"
Kare , what does the" S " means behind # ?
thanks
