Rubber kit for 330 GT clutch master cylinder

Post by LinuxLotusJagNut »

I am working on two 330 GT cars. One is a late four headlight car with the five speed transmission and the other is a two headlight car. Both cars had bad clutch masters. I replaced one even though the cylinder was OK. It was just the rubber seals that had deteriorated. I have tried calling some Ferrari part suppliers but they tell me the only way to fix this problem is to replace the cylinder. I have been told the rebuild kits are just not available. That only new cylinders are available. Is this true or is there somewhere to get the clutch master rebuild kits?

Same situation for me,
anybody knowing the Lokheed/Girling SP xxxx number for repair sealing sets pof clutch master cylinder. For me from Germany much easier to check british suppliers as also often used or british cars.

Suebian: I do not believe it is a Girling cylinder. I have never seen a Girling kit for them. The US suppliers usually just have the individual seals available.

The clutch slave cylinder in mine (and I think all) is a Fiat part. Right after I got my 330 I got the part from JC Whitney. Unfortunately that has been a long time ago, but it might be a lead.

Warren, thanks for your hint. The Fiat channel I also verified. It looks I can get a new master cylinder for $ 125.- from italian Ebay. Similar to Fiat1500 OSCA and may be also Fiat convertible 1200-1500. Still I think that it seems like a british part as diameter of master cylinder is exactly 1 inch, italians did use metric dimensions.

I know I can easily contact the US Ferrari spare suppliers for such items, but shipping and customs adds a lot of $ and is time consuming. As we have also some european owners in this forum I hope to get their information what can be sourced in Europe.

Suebian: The Italians and especially Ferrari have used lots of brake parts with "English" dimensions. All the Ferrari drum brake cylinders are Italian made and are in inch sizes.

Thanks for your information. Now I have learned something. Before my GT330 I restored only german and british cars.
