Thank you for the picture.
So the (other I've posted before) housing wich is mounted on the upside is not correct, I think.

Is this housing mounted on the backside ?

Yes the bracket angles up to a location behind the bumper on the body. From the picture you can see the raised flat section on the body panel it bolts to.

Markus, such an early car was delivered without a back-up light. A provision to fit a Marchal 530 was added late in 1961 and many owners have tried to mimic that installation without really knowing what they are doing often installing the light to hang from the bumper.

I would actually try to find a Carello that mounts to the body. It will look different than a factory mounted Marchal 530, but it is supposed to look different as the provision and the bracket will be missing on your car!

Thank You, Cory and Kare !

I've investigated and now I'm convinced, that my (early) GTE doesn't need a back up light.

Mountig it at the bumper is inexceptable, mounting it at the body makes no sense exept remodeling the back including the "hole" for the Light. So, conclusion: No back up light.

I'm sure someone in Europe has a buffing wheel made for plastic parts:

You'll be surprised how good it will look when you're done.
