wiring

Post by cory »

In sorting out a charging issue I would like to double check the wiring. There is a positive and negative symbol on the amp gauge where the wires are attached to the gauge. Should the positive be coming from the fuse panel power block or from the starter. Wiring schematic isn't really definitive.
Thanks

I think if you hook it up wrong, the needle will move in the wrong direction when the alternator charges.

I agree with Tom, not from my rather thin Ferrari knowledge but from working on a great variety of old cars both foreign and domestic. I would also bet that the positive marked terminal should be wired to the starter terminal that is common to the battery...all the disclaimers apply to my advice due to my aforementioned Ferrari specific electrical experience.
