Frontmask recreation 250 GTE

Not 3 years ago, my GTE got a bare-metal-respray.... Today I ascertain the damage !
The Metal was thinner than paper, the spackle was thicker than ¼ inch !!!!!

The obvious problem was, that the front mask (Chrome) was not fitting correctly, because the curvature wasn't the same on the left and right side. Removing the paint shows the problem ! No metal, only spackle ! And a lot of it and badly made !
After removing the paint (and everything else) a little bit more, the paper-thin metal became visible. Not only around the mask but also around the Headlights.

Today the mask fits, but I have a question about the curvature around the Headlight-Rims:

Can anyone take a picture of the correct curvature ?
Is this curvature all around the rims the same or does it change (at the lower half) ?

Hi Markus,

I'll try to take some pics of a SI or SII car soon for you. It's a shame you went through all that paint work on top of such bad body work. If you build up the headlight area, how will you blend in to the fender line with so much filler? What did they do with the rest of the car?!

good question, my garage has to answer...

I'm afraid, that they have to do the COMPLETE Paintjob again after removing the filler. I will keep You informed.

It SHOULD be grigio ferro 106.E.8

She was recolored in the early 1980s to this color, the original color was rosso bordeaux MM10.027

The curvature of the Fenders where different !

After (more than) one crash in the '70s , the rebuilding at that time was "not so well done" ...

Chromerings for the headlights are both fitting well.
Pictures taken three weeks ago, tomorrow she will be back from the paintshop ... I was told so ...
