windshield washer bag

Post by cory »

Hi All,
I am looking for a windshield washer bag for a 1964 GT. I am unsure which one it is. I am under the assumption it is a 1/2 litre Foredit bag. Could anybody confirm and or possibly post a picture of a correct one?
Thank you in advance.

Thanks Peter. What I was wondering is that the early 330's had the bag placed up on the firewall, near the brake boosters, and I think it was a 1/2 litre bag with grommets. I believe the later 330/275 had the bags with the strap across the top. Dyke was kind enough to send some pictures but I was looking to confirm what was correct. I see these foredit bags in different configurations for sale and to confuse things a little more it seems they were used on other cars of the era.

Cory,
the 1/2 liter washer bag and also the washer nozzles are even used at Fiat 500 Minicar. My GT330 Series 2 has a larger one. I guess at least 3/4l. But that one on Kerry´s pic looks pretty similar to Fiat 500.

Dieter,
There are diff. types of washer nozzles .
I think only the type on the left( pic) was used on 50th and 60th Ferraris.

1.Squere body with flat top (Cube type).
2.squere body with round top.
3.round body with round top ( tampon type).

Still trying to locate a 1/2 litre Foredit windscreen washer bag. Anybody have any sources? I was thinking of contacting Motion Products or other large restoration shop to ask what they do when needing items like this in hopes of finding a source. Anyone one had any luck going down that avenue?

I may have an old one. I'll try to post a photo tomorrow. I do not know what the money units used in prproducts are.
Maybe Italian Lira before they switched to Euros?

I have tried PR products, a number of times. Cant really get a straight answer over the last 10 months. "Bags coming in", then their not, then theres no answer at all. I think I will move on to other sources.

Thank you for the offer. I actually have a cavis bag. The bag I need is a 1/2 litre Foredit bag. Its square in shape with the same grommets as shown in your pics, no metal strap, just round grommets for mounting.

Cory -- the early S1's had filler on top, but are you sure it is supposed to be 0.5 liter? Here is a Foredit with the smaller rectangular logo that is .75: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ferrari-Vintage ... b5&vxp=mtr

Hi Peter
I couldn't pull up the ebay link but I think that was the one Tony Randazzo was listing that was split at the bottom. The 275 used those and the bags with the strap. I believe those were .75litre. Dyke would be able to verify. He sent pics of both to me and if I knew how to get them on here I would post them. I am assuming the 1/2 litre bag was used due the space restriction on the series 1 as they were mounted up off the edge of the hood opening, in front of the fuel regulator, and next to the dual boosters. PR products did offer the 1/2 litre bag. Please someone correct me if I am wrong. Dyke did mention in his photos he sent that the Foredit bag with the mounting strap was original and mounted on a 1964/late 65 275GTB.
Thank You

My 1964 330GT 2+2 has a 3/4 liter Foredit bag, like this one on the PR Products site:
http://prproducts.net/images/products/G ... th-cap.jpg
Also visible on Kerry's site at:
http://www.330gt.com/Encyclopedia/Image ... 402_11.gif

It appears to be the same as the split bag currently listed by Tony Randazzo on eBay (except his bag seems to be missing its grommets). Unfortunately mine is similarly split, and I haven't had any luck with PR Products either.
