Daytona Exhaust Paint

Post by DrewA »

Looking at my Daytona exhaust, whicn needs to be repainted, the silencers/mufflers appear to be wrinkle coated. However in examining detaild pictures of Daytona undercarriages, like the ones on Mike Sheehan's site they appear to be just regular semi-gloss black - no wrinkle.

Can someone state what would be correct for a 1973 Daytona exhaust - USA exhaust.

Drew: Hopefully, I will remember to check my car later this weekend. It has the original system on it.

Drew: US Version Daytona's have original exhaust systems finished in Satin Black. NOT wrinkle finish paint.

Hi Dyke, what about the Lusso, is that satin black too?
I saw a finely finished 275 Shortnose once with wrinkle black finish on the entire exhaust and wondered, but I assumed it was correct because the rest of the car was such a top flight job.

Hi All,

250 cars are semigloss black.
