As for the registration 4843Z, that may have been a mistake or done to fulfill a requirement of the Department of Motor Vehicles. In California, I was required to provide a 10 digit VIN number, so mine is registered as 250GTE4247.

Note that it would be helpful for somebody to get a better look at the Numero Interno of the engine. I see 432/62E, which is way too low for this car. However, there might be a 1 in the shadows (I see something, but can't determine exactly what it is) and if so, 1432/62E would be appropriate for this vintage of GTE.
