In looking for a resto battery for a series 1 330GT I found the battery box to be a bit small for the G27 Battery. In looking at old posts it seemed that the G27 was a correct battery size for this model. However, I am working on another series 1 330GT and noticed that battery box to be the same smaller size. They measure 6 7/8" x 10 5/8". They both look original to me. I believe that dimension would fit the G24 battery. I noticed that the later series 330's had the battery box at an angle as opposed to running it parallel to firewall like the series 1 cars. Was this due to a larger battery used in the later 330's? Which is correct?
Thank you
Cory
Battery Hold Down
Re: Battery Hold Down
Hi Cory,
I don't have a battery just yet but I measured my series 1 tray and it is also 6 7/8" x 10 5/8". The threaded rods for the clamp look like they'll take a battery up to 7 1/2" tall. Hope this helps.
Regards
Darren

Re: Battery Hold Down
Thank you. Seems the series 1 had a different set up.
Re: Battery Hold Down
In light of this information I have a brand new G27 Marelli style battery from Restoration battery that sells for $310. It is available to anybody looking for one.
Thank you

Re: Battery Hold Down
Greetings Cory… Little brothers hold down is 6 3/4 by 10 1/4 but then I made that one. It sits parallel to the firewall. Later batteries seem to be smaller and I've had to add a cross piece to make it work.
