My scuff plate was missing when I bought the car. I made a new one, however, can anyone tell me what is the correct fastener used to attach it to the firewall. I have 3 holes there but unclear if there was a threadsert in the firewall or just thru bolted with a nut.

Self tapping counter sunk screws.

Sorry, slotted, as most all trim screws were of that era.
