Tom: Regarding the position of the tools, isn't it possible to have turned the bag over when new and arranged the lengths of the loops to accomodate the tools as arranged in the picture? Not sure it was the result of the seamstress. Bob

The number of loops and the spacing is different on each. The tools would not fit if you flipped it over.

Zac has been burning the midnight oil (and it's not even August yet!) getting the doors, trunk, hood and interior together so 4247 GT can go to the upholstery shop this morning. It is looking great, but expect BIG changes in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, I am busy getting my wife's stuff out of the garage so it will have a home come September...

That makes two of us Marc

In all seriousness though, expect some fun updates next week and rest assured 4247 will be in Monterey next month

Me, I'm calm, cool and collected

Actually, lots of stuff is getting done, but lately it has been little stuff that makes for dull photos. But NEXT week....

The car came back from Westminster Auto Upholstery yesterday and I am very pleased with the work that was done. All the colors match the original very nicely and the work is first rate. I think the white on red combination )(original) is a very 1960's look and a lot of fun.

We left the Dash, Front Seats and Door Panels out until the work behind them is done. Note the red vinyl heel pads in the front. Though usually black, they were red on mine. Do any of you guys have non-black pads? Also note, if you can see it, the grab handles in the ceiling. I was wondering where Pete was going to find the new material for these as they were quite yellowed. Turns out he can dye them and they came out great!

The block welding is FINALLY done and as we did the rest of the engine work already, it is ready for Craig to assemble. He tells me that cutting things close to the deadline is a car restoration tradition, but it is one I am surely not used to. I know that Zac is not a fan of it either, as he has a lot of finished parts to install in the coming month! However, we are still on track for Monterey, so I look forward to seeing you all there.

Tom and Zac - - i like it.....

Im in San Diego this weekend at the Bocce Tournement at Dog Beach and was thinking on stopping by to see the progress.

I love the red interior with the white - - quality looks very nice.

Ill have to look into these guys for the Ellena interior when i get to that point......did they supply the leather and carpet or did you get that elsewhere?

I was wondering what was going on on Dog Beach! If I had known it was Bocce I would have walked down. Anyway, call Zac and see if he is at the shop.

My wife bought me the leather for a Christmas present :P and Pete supplied the rest. The leather came from a shop in West Los Angeles that Zac recommended, and is the same place Pete uses. I will say, however, that having your wife pick it out eliminates a lot future problems... When you get to that point we will give you the specifics.

You have a week more than we do on the East Coast, as we have to ship the cars across the country. The car looks great, and I have my fingers crossed for you guys. Good luck Zac and Tom W!

Tom,

The car looks great! A BIG improvement from the last time I saw it. The body/interior color combination reminds me of an ice cream sundae, very flashy 60's style.
