Ferrari 250 Radiator

Post by enio45 »

Looking to see whats available to purchase -

Need a 58 Ferrari 250 Ellena radiator.

Looking for a very nice used example to purchase.

As a ref point, the 250 Ellena Rad has the temp sensor for the louvers mounted on the front, has a bracket
in the middle on the upper tank - engine side for the rod that goes to the engine to support the radiator.

The filler neck is extended out from the top tank and it has a sensor on the top tank driver side as well.

I'll look the pic of the correct one hoping someone has one available .

Appreciate any leads

Hi Ed, if none turns up, you might retrofit a PF coupe radiator.

Cornelius picture is correct for what i need.......

I did buy one complete radiator recently, but upon the disassembly of it we did notice that the
upper and lower tanks were very very stretch. It seem to me that there might have been water in the
tank and it froze and expanded it causing the distortion. several of the areas where the tank was to be indented along the top
and bottom of the tanks was pushed out and rounded off as well as the seams are split.

It might be repairable, but many hours to fix it plus a new core is required as well.....so for right now
i need to search out for a very nice orig one that at least would need a new core and i should be good to go.

Im working a plan on the louvers to find one or ill make one if i can find a good example to copy....

Final solution -i have talked to GTO engineering then can make a new radiator - they are now making them for the boano currently.

Im waiting for pictures for their rad (they own the molds and drawings to the FIM radiators) .....
