GTC alternator advice wanted

Post by Jumprun »

My car came with the Lucas alternator and regulator. I recently had the alternator entirely rebuilt by an experienced shop and I'm satisfied it's performing as well as designed but It's output seems overly taxed at times. A search has revealed that others have replaced their Lucas with a MM from a 365 queen mum or a Delco 12Si, 78 amp. I'd be interested in hearing if it's worth doing a conversion.

Best Regards from Tom in SoCal.

I have an MM alternator core that came with my father's 365GT 2+2. It without question needs a complete rebuild but may be the alternator you are referencing.

I tried to upload pictures directly to this post but could not. Here's a link to google pictures
