I know it LOOKS darker but the photo is from and old piece from 7837 and the new piece is from Jonathon Connolly.
For some reason the new sample looks darker when viewed on its own but when held against the old original piece they are VERY close.

The color looks brighter on photographs than in reality.

Perhaps prolonged exposure to sunlight fades the color of the darker blue to a lighter hue over a period of years. In looking at the 'old versus new' image the edges of the old appear to me to be darker and very close to the new sample; perhaps those edges of the old were protected from solar exposure by brackets, panels, etc. Just a thought...
