Hi Rod,

Looks like you're knee deep into the car!

Let us know what we can do to help.

thanks guys !

Useful precision, it's not my work on the motor, I'm just takings pics. I have a very good mechanic here in France who is in charge of the restoration. I help him for the "cosmetics". For example, some parts are very difficult to find and he earn time with my help.

By the way, here is a non exhaustive list of all works we have to do :

- A motor restoration. We have decided to "invest" to get à very clean motor.
- New clutch
- Revise the gearbox
- Clean motor bay
- Rear shock absorbers because the rear is very low and the self levelers seems dead
- Brakes
- Some cosmetics where there is not a very big work, teh restoration is mainly focus on mechanic

By the way we are searching some parts :

- A shift knob (the previous owner put and awfull wood knob)
- A rear windshield (It's not broken, but there is a little fault that can not be repaired and if we decide a repaint later, it will be impossible to take off the windshield without broking it)

Here is a picture of the interior (with the awfull shiht knob...). As you can see the leather is blue, wich is not common. So it was my question in another post about the original colors (interior/exterior) of the in 1968 ?

Hi Rod,

There are a few ways to address the rear shock issue. The easiest is to buy the Koni replacement that replaces the faulty automatic load leveler shock that failed with a simple coil over that is manually adjustable. You can use air adjustable shocks too, and that's the cheaper route.

The shift knob is readily available.

The rear windshield is a problem because you probably have a defroster heating elements inside the rear glass which I don't think is in the reproduction glass.

Have fun getting those trim rings off! Get a thin blade paint scraper and try to get underneath the chrome trim ring. Try not to bend them. Another trick I have done is loosen the bolts from behind and try tapping them against the back of the trim ring to get them off the wheel to catch the edge with the paint scraper.

I'm actually in the process of getting the wheels painted and new tires on my 330.

So I pulled out the old putty knife I modified many years ago to remove my trim rings.

It took a long time for the first wheel, so I went back to the drawing board and figured out a much better way. See http://www.parrotbyte.com/kbc/ferrari/W ... m#20170617 for what I ended up doing.

The final result was a very safe way to remove them and it only takes a couple of minutes per wheel.

Hello,

Last news of the car with some pictures. Here is some new fresh weber totally refurbished.

Everything is disassembled and all parts cleaned. There is a lot of work to do on the motor yet, but it's a nice adventure ;-)

It's always a pleasure to go to the garage and see the evolution.
