Fuzzy Strip

Post by John Vardanian »

There is a fuzzy strip that mounts horizontally at the top of the door and scrapes against the window as it rolls up and down. The original strip has a chromed bezel while the repro does not. Has anyone tried any tricks to make the new strip look as original? I know Kerry is really good on things like this. I'd appreciate an advice. Thanks.

Hi John: Have you checked an "old established" auto glass shop? Several years ago I bought a couple of lengths with a stainless edging from a local shop.

hello TY ers,
For those who do not know what they are talking about...
these came with my project car PF body nr 036 thats very early 1958…
I don´t think they came which a Lusso John.
I never have seen them after 1960 on untouched org. cars, but I could be wrong.

Thanks Cornelis. I am pretty sure what I removed from my car had been there since the beginning.

Bob, I have not checked any local retailers yet, but I did find this in the UK. It is close but not identical.

Try Restoration and Speciality Supply, Metro molded rubber and Steele rubber, they all carry universal window sweepers, you should be able to match up or modify something. I'm lucky because I have an auto upholstery supply shop close by so I just walk up and match what I need.
