Exhaust Finish

Post by John Vardanian »

Abarth systems, I understand it was wrinkle paint finished. Can you get this wrinkle finish done in a high temp powder coat? Thanks.

John they do wrinkle finish in powder coat.....

we did a set of ferrari valve covers in wrinkle powdercoat - i thought they looked real nice, but
upon others opinion, they lacked a greater level of texture that originals would have.

i would talk with your powdercoater and see what he can do - worth getting some samples

Ed, would the powder coat withstand the heat toward the front where it gets hotter?

That is a good question......have to see what that temp could be....

i know that u have to bake the powder coat at 400 i thought....maybe 600

so what would the temps be for the exhaust

recently we did the exh for a 56 boano and used CeraCoat Ceramic coating - i don't know if they make a wrinkle finish in this?

i can ask my guy to see what he thinks if you would like....let me know
