Keys for Locks

Post by enio45 » Mon Mar 19, 2018 9:25 pm

Anyone know or recall how many keys are with a GT 2+2 car

you have 2 door locks, one trunk lock, one gas door lock and one ignition lock.....

what keys go to what.....like ignition key - ignition only ??
door locks and trunk = 1 key
gas door - different key?

Kerry - as usual, very thorough info.....thanks so much for the time you put into the various articles.

Also - how did you make the little copper or brass plugs for the trunk lock? I need to do the same for my
Ellena locks.

My '62 250 GTE is original. It has just 2 keys.
One for the ignition. The door, glove box and trunk are all the same. Only one door has a lock - drivers side.

I probably used a brass machine screw that I filed down until I got the right diameter. Or I might have had some brass rod that I filed down.
