Help identifying these screwdrivers

Post by Steve Meltzer »

Sorry this X-posted with FC....I bought these drivers but fear they're either all wrong, or mostly wrong. Can anyone help me to id these as correct reproductions (I know they're not new) or where they heck they come from? Trying to assemble a reasonable repro tool kit for a '66 GTC. thanx steve

Not like Horse shoes and hand grenades..., these are all close, but not good enough. I don't think the original wood handled ones had any writing on them, let alone had the shafts go all the way through the handle. The original plastic handled ones did not have heat treated tips. They might pass at a local car show, but not at a Ferrari show where the judges know something,...if the judges know something!

Is it the light, or are those screwdrivers gold plated?!

Tom, thanx for the info. I had no doubt that tho' the heat treated tips looked cool, they were wrong. And yes, all of the tools I showed and use in my garage are gold plated. Forget Snap-On, these jewels are Harbor Freight all the way. s

Hi Steve, I am not much help on GTCs, but these are original GTE screwdrivers. No heat treated tips, no printing, no shaft poking out of the bottom...

Tom, thanx a bunch...pretty clear I've got a bunch of wannabes. Good thing I didn't really pay much for them. s
