Radiator blind needed

Post by Melchior »

Hi there,

I removed my radiotor to put a new mesh inside as the old one leaked from time to time - so far so good. When dismounting the radiotor I realised that my radiator blind is missing. The bowden cable is there, but the blind itself not. Does anyone have a pic how this piece looks like? Does anybody have one for sale or know where to get one?

Thank you and regards,

Martin

I have several pictures of the blind on my PF coupe. See http://www.parrotbyte.com/kbc/ferrari/P ... rBlind.htm.

Kerry: I went to the Restoration website and could not find the cloth you mentioned in your post. Is it still available? Thanks Bob GTE #2693

Well, it's been a long time, but it I remember, my wife was teaching knitting at a local fabric store. I just took the old cloth and found something close enough for me. Now, I am sure the Henk at HVL has the exact right stuff. However, just the shipping from the Netherlands would be several time what I paid. I probably have some of what I bought left over as I had to buy a yard. I could mail you a sample.

Thank you very much Kerry, that´s a great documentation and at least now I understand better what I am looking for. The bad thing is that I realise that this cannot be reproduced just like that, I definately need a radiator blind which I can restore.

Getting some of your blinds could be a start and I would like to take your offer if you would be so nice to send me some. May I send you my contact data where to send them?

The blind itself is a white, cloth-backed black vinyl. It is the same vinyl that covers the shelf under the rear window and other places inside the car. They also used this same vinyl as moisture barrier behind the door cards.
