This looks identical to the knobs on the several series II 330 GTs that I've seen (including mine).

A conical lock nut holds the knob at the angle desired by the driver so his/her fingers fit into the grooves properly.

Looks like mine (Series II) as well, Kerry is correct you need a lock nut that I believe Parker Hall sells. Michael Bayer # 9727

The reason a lot of these are broken is that they have a threaded brass insert and often (if not always) the brass insert is higher than the plastic at the bottom of the knob, where the jam nut locks up to it -- so the jam nut then exerts pressure on the plastic knob, instead of simply locking agaist the brass thread insert.
The final result is inevitable -- the jam nut will eventually pull the brass insert out of the plastic knob -- catastrophicly.
I suggest to remove knob, and if needed place a narrow washer on top of jam nut so all pressure is put on brass insert only, not on plastic knob
