Hi All, hi Tom,
I do have SET Synchron testers (see pic) with various adapters but none fit the Weber DCS 36 on the Gte. I in addition have some old Motometer testers (second pic) but would prefer to use the SET. I can not find a suitable adapter for the SET. Before I start to turn adapters on the lathe I would like to now a.) if there is fitting adapter or b.) what you use as tool for synchronizing the DCS?
Thanks a lot
Christopher
Carb sync tool for Weber 36 DCS
Re: Carb sync tool for Weber 36 DCS
I have had good success with a length of rubber hose and listening to each barrel. The trick to using a hose is to insert it the same depth and the same location in each barrel and holding the tube to your ear the same for each measurement. However most people seem to find this method difficult.

I have an identical Motometer that I used on my 330 w/40DCZ carbs. I simply used a short piece of appropriate diameter radiator hose to seal against the carb and set the tool on the top.

Re: Carb sync tool for Weber 36 DCS
I use the snail type with good results on my 36 carbs. For an adaptor, take a one-inch Sched 40 PVC coupler and turn one end of it at a 5-degree taper. Glue a two-inch section of pipe in the uncut end of the coupler. Insert the pipe inside the rubber snorkel of the meter and wrap a wire tie around it as a choker for a tight seal. The taper end of the coupler falls inside the mouth of the carb; it makes a nice seal and it also keeps the meter from toppling as the engine shakes. This frees up both hands.

Thanks for your feedback on how you do it. Will also go in the direction of doing my own adapters.
