Blocking - how do you know when straight

Post by PSk »

Tom,

I watched your Ferrari 330 blocking video with great interest as currently blocking my 1750GTV. One thing I was left a little unsure about is when do you stop blocking, i.e. how do they know that the blocking job is finished?

I'm using guide coats and that tells you the highs and lows. Do the professionals keep blocking until when they block all the guide coat is removed evenly? Note the modern method is to use some sort of guide dust.

Would be appreciated if you could provide an answer for this. I'm happy to do the sanding work ...

Hi Pete,

The guide coat is the exactly that, the guide to show if you're blocking evenly.
