TY Party @ Greenspans

Post by 330GT »

I just booked my flights to be at Tom's party (http://tomyang.net/?p=23437").

See you all next Saturday (or maybe Sunday based on the 7 day forecast for Westbrook).
Regards, Kerry

Wow. What a great and happy surprise. I look forward to seeing you again. But, this time it’s not in Westbrook. See you soon.

Oh, OK. Changed hotel reservation to be near Redding. Same long-term forecast, rain Saturday and OK Sunday.

Probably go to Stonington on the off day and do some research as my forefathers helped found the town in the 1649.

One other thing, although we will all be too busy talking about cars and catching up on all these past years, there is a rather nice pool at the house so if you think that might lure you, please bring a towel along with a suit.

Looking forward to seeing everyone

The party is 11a-4p. Do you have the specific details? I can send it via email or text.

Hello All!

It's been a long time since I last posted.

Tom had invited me to the party and I had hoped to attend but, unfortunately, I was hospitalized.

That said I'm out and my wife took me to the beach yesterday afternoon (Oct 1) and as we were waiting to pull out on to NJ Route 72 towards Long Beach Island yesterday afternoon, my wife spotted an attractive older car, noting its rather diminutive size and attractive proportions and, surprisingly, identified it as a Ferrari! I caught a glimpse and realized it was an azzurro S1 330GT 2+2!

My guess is that we spotted one of the TYparty participants - Art Becker and 7091.

If so, I'm glad to see another Art from NJ has taken over for me in regularly driving his 330! :^)

Maybe I will make it to the next gathering.

Warm regards,

Art,

Sorry to hear about the hospitalization. When Tom and I started to arrange the gathering we definitely hoped that you could show up. After all, your Ferrari is the only Ferrari our son Joshua has ever driven. He still avoids driving mine. You were missed. I hope that we can do this before another 20 years (the good news would be that I made it to 100 but who knows what the bad news might be).

I hope you are doing well. Regards to your wife.

And yours was the first Ferrari had ever driven! Thank you for your generosity that day and I hope we can catch up soon. Come to CA and drive mine!

I haven't been on the site in a bit. I noticed Art S. mentioned a sighting of an S1 330GT near Long Beach Island in October. Indeed, he was correct that good looking old, unrestored Azzurro 330 GT was indeed me sporting about the LBI area. I had a fantastic time at Mike Greenspan's B Day party and added 396 miles to the 330 that Saturday. Despite having to deal with rain on the majority of my way home the 330 performed flawlessly. Nothing like cruising down the Garden State Parkway in a 1965 330 GT at 85 mph passing current day vehicles so effortlessly. I bet some of the people I passed thought there goes some gasoline crazed old man in some weird looking old car! Thanks again to Tom and the Greenspan's for inviting me to attend. It was truly a memorable day for me being with vintage Ferrari lovers and just nice folks. Truly appreciated every minute of life that day. Stay well to all.

I just came across this announcement for Tom's party, tho' I wouldn't have been able to make it anyhow. Although it would have been a treat to see other members of the gang, by far the biggest calling card would have been Michael's wife Dorie's World class cooking. Just in case anyone missed this most interesting tidbit, Dorie is a highly-acclaimed baker, author and award-winning chef. So it's true, the food would've been my raison d'être and not you guys with the aroma of petrol.

check this out:

OK, i'm goin' back to my slice and bake cookies! steve
