Handbrake red button - looking for one

Post by Pmo75 »

Hi all,

the red button of my 330 GT went missing. It had happened once where it had stuck to my glove.
This time no luck in finding it.
I searched online, but could not find one so far.

If one of you has a spare, I would gladly transact...

I happen to also need the plastic base of the aerial antenna.
My car seems to be falling apart...

Thank you for your help.

I don't have a spare, but this would be easy to reproduce using a 3-D printer. If you want to make one, I can measure mine so you have the information you will need.
Another choice would be to find some red plastic rod of the right diameter. Then drilling a hole and rounding the top edges would be pretty simple.

Does the light inside the button work? Frequently the wires end up in the hinge and get cut.

If anyone is going to make one of these red buttons, i can use one as well.

Appreciate if i can tag along - and be happy to contribute to the cost of making one.

It's just a cylinder with a threaded hole at one end, correct?

I have mine apart for my 330 GT - I'll take a pic and post it - however, yes pretty simple.

For some reason mine is white and had a handicap assist handle on my emergency brake lever. I'll post that as well.

It was on the car when i got it and i recall the owners wife had some trouble with pushing the button down so they installed this.

I nor Kerry ever seen one like it before......and , most importantly the button was white.

Thank you Kerry, yes the dimensions would help a lot!
The bulb is still there but the light is not working.

Ok here are the dimensions

Also the unique handicap lever and mine had a white button which i suspect is remade from the red one - believe to be stronger being the lever is used to push the button vs your thumb. (This is my assessment as we never seen one of these before) . The Handle lever you see in the picture looks like to be a professional production part from something.

I'm out of town skiing for a couple of weeks, so it will be a bit.

As I mentioned, the wires are probably cut inside the leather boot. Take it off and inspect them. Check the bulb first as that is the easiest fix. The flasher unit might also be bad.
