Stuck bolts

One thing that I always do is to thread a nut most of the way onto the bolt, before using the press to push out the bolt. I leave a few threads of the nut protruding. The nut puts the pressure onto the threads thus preventing any destruction of the end of the bolt.

This is particularly important if you are having to hammer out the bolt. Hopefully, in this case, you have a spare nut to use as it might get destroyed.
