Shows to show up at

Post by Yale »

Hey All,

The 19th Annual Reading Ferrari Concours, Art & Memorabilia Show on May 18th will feature the Ferrari 250.

And the Hartford Concorso Ferrari on Jun 22 is thinking about a feature on the glorious +2's. So how about an official Tom Yang Big Island Ferrari Club meeting at one or both of these events?

The Hartford Concorso is a fabulous event and it supports a good charity. Sounds like fun!

I think the Reading show is Sunday, May 16. I would love to go, but the due date for the arrival of our second child is May 19 . . . . I fear that the marital sanction I would incur if this baby came a few days early while I was at a Ferrari show would be SEVERE.

My new stebro muffler is finally installed (what, I only bought it 18 months ago!) - sounds great, and not too loud - I'd love to drive the Beast up for what promises to be a great show, but the timing is just too close. I enjoyed meeting Tom and Yale at that show several years ago; I'll see you all there next year!

You are right Bryan I am wrong on the dates! I got the dates from an interview with Paul Gilpatrick (he has the other, non-Kerry, 330 registry at www.330register.com ) about the events he was looking forward to this year. Here is some info on the Reading one and I will confirm the exact date for the Hartford one when it becomes clear that they will indeed focus on the +2's.

Re: The Fourth Annual Hartford Concorso Ferrari, June 20, 2004
(from the FCA-New England Region Newsletter)
"This is our biggest event of the year, to benefit the Connecticut Children's Medical Center. The theme this year will focus on racing, with race cars galor! Not to mention a collection of modern Ferrari supercars, as well as dozens of modern and historic touring cars. Truly spectacular gourmet food, wine, a parade for CCMC patients, and lots of surprises. There will be a cocktail party and dinner the evening prior, and discount rates at the Goodwin Hotel. Dave or Fiona Friar, Connecticut Chapter President, at (860) 678-1291 or dlf@friar.com/faf@friar.com."

I think that attendance is open to anyone; however, I think that participation in the parade (CCMC patients ride w/ you in a police escorted parade through Hartford) and concorso is only open to FCA members. I have call in to Dave & Fiona to confirm.[/i]

GREAT NEWS. YES, they are focusing on 2+2's. GREAT NEWS II: ALL Ferrari cars and owners are invited to participate, whether or not you belong to the FCA. Remember, it's a charity event. You may contact Dave or Fiona Friar directly (see below), or me. Dave is sending me a few extra registration packets for Tom Yang Forum members. The date is June 20th. As I understand it, the registration fee is $50, and the (optional?) lunch in the State Capitol Building is $50. As soon as I receive the reg packet I'll post more info. If you bring a second Ferrari, that car is FREE of the reg fee. Any questions or to register, please contact:

Dave or Fiona Friar, 860-678-1291 or dlf@friar.com and faf@friar.com, or if really desperate, Jack Horner, 203-246-9705 (mobile), hornerljh@aol.com, jack.horner@areamktg.com
