Marchal headlamps

Post by ClassicParts »

We've acquired a selection of Marchal headlamps and I'm trying to identify them as to what goes where. There are a selection of different Marchal numbers, but no cross reference to any Ferrari numbers that I can find. Does anyone have a reference list of what Marchal numbers go with what car? I'm also not sure how late Ferrari used Marchal lights? Was it only up to 250s, or did it extend to 275/330 models?

Will try and get some numbers when I have a chance!

from what i understand - early 330 GT series II cars had marchal headlamps......somewhat before 8289 (which is my car def had carello lamps) so the low 8000 is when the switch was. pics would help with your inventory.

Yes, early 330 GTs did come with Marchal headlights. However, the body parts manual just shows the whole headlight bucket assembly including the headlight as a single body part number. So, the body parts manual does not specify exactly when Ferrari changed from Marchal to Carello headlights.

Ok - finally had a chance to check through the stock and I have the following Marchal numbers:

612 20 103
612 24 303
612 24 803
Marchal/Valeo 069028 (which seems to be the same as 612 24 803 above)
612 82 303
Marchal 16963 (can be swapped LHD to RHD according to label)
612 82 903

Anyone know what fits what?

Cheers

Kerry,

That habit of the Factory to include the bowl with the lens is a bit frustrating. Most people only want to replace the lenses and don't get the concept that you can get, say a LH bowl and lens still but want the RH one. You have to explain that the lens is the same, just the bowl is different.

Ferrari persisted with this right through until they started using different shaped headlamps other than round ones.

Oh - talking of headlamp bowls, I also have a Marchal one here with outer polished ring as well. Numbers on the bowl are as best I can see:
.02 58060 200

The polished ring has Ref 8816 on the inside too.

Let me know if you work it out. I can post some pics in due course in need too.
