Does anybody know one of these specific 365's for sale?

Post by jcwconsult »

I want to find a 365 GT 2+2 to buy and drive.

My background includes experience in SCCA Pro Rally (1974 2nd Driver, 1975 4th Driver) and I ran a two car Fiat factory team of 131 Abarths (duplicates of 1978 World Rally Championship cars) in 1979. I rebuilt the engine on my car and replaced a body-in-white on my teammate's car after a crash. I am not afraid of some work needed - if the price is right.

#11315, 68 Euro, Red/tan, 37000 km, $65,000, in NJ, offered through Bobileff Motors but car is in NJ with wealthy collector who likely did not drive it very much
#12333, 69 USA, Silver/red, 79000 mi, $68,500, ex Harrah and the 1969 Road and Track test car, Heritage Classics in CA, some service records, former owner kept is prepped to drive
#12549, 69 USA, Silver-blue/black, shows ? 42000 miles, $64,500, Heritage Classics in CA, no records available, rebuilt trans & top end by Heritage
#12941, 69 USA, Silver-blue/tan, 46000 miles, $55,000, David Bruno in Alabama, private owner says he drives it frequently
#12789, 69 USA, Silver-blue/beige, 49000 miles, $58,500, Motorcar Gallery in FL
#13155, 69 USA, Red/black, 61000 miles, $65,000, Lamborghini Dallas, supposedly had $82,000 ?!?! engine overhaul by Bob Smith Coachworks
VIN?, 69 model, Marrone/tan, 61000 miles, $44,900, in Ohio, former owner Bob Tallgren, maintained by Charles Pierson & Tim Stanford, old paint, new leather
VIN?, 71 USA, Rosso Corsa/black w/red inserts, 6800 documented miles, $68,900, Cromodoras with original tires, in CT
VIN?, 69 model, Red/tan, 40000 miles, $55,900, in CA, paint by Bill DeCarr
VIN?, 68 model, Azro Blue/black, 65000 miles since 1988, $41,900, in CA

Up until recently, I was also considering 365 GTs and I personally inspected the two at Heritage Classics.

12549 didn't do much for me. It just wasn't in the kind of condition that I was looking for so I didn't pay it much attention. I do remember that the ignition switch looks as though it has been cut out with a hacksaw and replaced without repairing the damage, which appeared to be the result of a possible theft attempt at some point in its history. Purely speculation, of course.

12333, on the other hand, was very nice. The paint was a little thick and had a few minor chips on the nose. The passenger-side front bumper had been removed to repair a dent but, other than that it was nice cosmetically, with the interior being in near-new condition. Under the hood, all looked near-new as well and the car started right up without hesitation and ran bery smoothly with no smoke whatsoever.

As for 13155 at Lamborghini Dallas, a few FerrariChat members have looked at the car and I had actually made an offer on it, but we never came to an agreement. Salesman (and fellow FerrariChatter) Jonathan Peck overnighted copies of all of the receipts to me and, I must say, they're impressive. If you're interested in this car, I recommend that you ask for Jonathan.

I hope you found this helpful!

I have two 365 Queen Mothers for sale, one silver/red, one red/tan.
The red/tan may have a depoit soon, but silver red is great.
