Workshop manual for 250GTE

Post by taro »

Is there anybody who knows the comprehensive workshop manual for 250GTE that was turned out by Ferrari Factory?
I have been believe that Ferrari didn't turn out this kind of manual for 250 GT cars.

I do not believe that there is a manual.
The best thing to do is to get the 250 GTE "Workbook" from the Registry keeper (see below). It contains all sorts of reference articles, a collection of parts drawings, tips, owner and magazine articles, as well as tuning and repair info. Far from comprehensive, it might be the best thing you can get. I am assuming that you have the owner's maual. It can be downloaded from http://www.owners.ferrari.com for free, but it is only in Italian and English. The registry folks are selling the English version for $10. I might buy one, as my French and Italian are too rusty at this point..

Nope, No real workshop manual, but the owner's manual has a lot more information than you think!

I'm currently working on a "Vintage Ferrari Restoration Guide" of sorts. It basically distills the information I've leaned in the last several years. I hope this will bridge the gaps between the owner's manual, and what is currently available.

Technical Manual

Post by Tom Wilson »

Ferrari did make a "Uso E Manutenzione" for the Ferrari 250/GTE Coupe' Pininfarina 2+2, as it says on the cover. I purchased an English copy on Ebay some time ago and there is an Italian version for sale right now. It is about 60 pages long and has a variety of topics from clutch specs and maintenance to Cylindar Head Bolt Torques to Weber adjustment. The cover says 250/GTE, but most of the specs also cover the 330GT 2+2, 330 GTC and 365 GTB/4, so a tech manual for those cars may also have 250 info.

I people are interested, I could look into converting the manual to Adobe Acrobat format and posting it. Just let me know. Be aware though, I am leaving town (and phone, fax and internet connections) tomorrow morning for 10 days and will not be able to respond to messages after then until the 14th.

Uso E Manutenzione

Oops! My computer guy just told me that an acrobat file would be rather large. When I get back I will explore other options.

250GT manual in English

Post by simonc »

If you download the 1962 'French' version of the 250GT manual from the owners site you will find that it is in ENGLISH !!

The 1963 version is really in French

This could only happen from Ferrari ....................

I have put them on the 400 Register web site if anyone wants to look at them. They are around 10Mb though.

There is a 250 GT Tuning Tips brochure by FAF that is very good. These
are hard to find. Len Miller also had some very complete and inexpensive manuals in copy form that include everything available. I don't know if they are still available.
