Ferrari on Film

Post by fest »

Last night while watching a DVD I got a rare treat-
a glimpse of a Ferrari 250 GTO

the film was 'Vanilla Sky' with Tom Cruise
(pretty good movie, actually)

the Ferrari was featured in the opening scenes of the Movie
as part of a 'dream' sequence
he (Tom) drove the car through the (strangely)
completely desterted streets of New York City
(talk about a dream come true, huh you New Yorkers)

I do not know if the car was a replica or real
(being no expert)
but the sound of it was sure real enough!

If it was real,
I do not know if the owner would want
to lend out a valuable car like that to any one-
especially for filiming in NYC
(on the other hand, the streets WERE deserted-
I was told that stunt alone cost $10 Mil)

a BIG problem with a car like that-
(like a having a genuine Cobra)
to have everyone asking 'is it REAL?'
must get tiresome

I believe that Tom Cruise finally admitted that the GTO was a clone one night on David Letterman. Perhaps Tom Yang was even there durring the fillming of that show!

It was a replica based on a Z-car chassis.
