This 365 GT 2+2, #12789, has been for sale there for some time. Has anyone seen it, or know something about it?
I am still looking for one, and I passed on the two at Heritage.

I saw, but did not examine the GTE.
365 #12333, the 1969 Road and Track test car, ex-Harrah looks good at 25 feet. It also DRIVES very well with zero smoke and a very responsive engine. I got just a bit of synchro crunch if shifted fast. Everything seemed to work, though the A/C needed charging. The fly in the ointment was THICK paint. I would have trouble accepting that repaint job on an economy car, let alone a classic Ferrari. It had craters you could feel. At 25 feet it looks great, however.
365 #12549 looked OK in most respects. In discussions, they were not confident of the 42,000 miles. The problem was the dash which seemed cracked through around the ignition switch - possibly needing the wood replaced. It was said to be a $400 repair, but if it was that easy, WHY was it not done in advance on a $64,500 car ?? Something did not feel right.

Jim,
Thanks for the info. My brother has a 1970 365 2+2, s/n 13681 which is in nice shape and recently taken to the Concourso Italiano in Monterey. I am threatening him with getting my own 365 2+2 some day. Too bad about the paint on the Harrah car.

Another point on the Harrah 365 #12333 at Heritage at $68,500. This exact same car was offered by Grand Prix Classics in early May at $49,000. At that price, I would have purchased it right away. You would have financial room to do a full strip to metal repaint, improve the air, maybe do synchros in a year or so --- and still end up a bit under $70,000. That seems the right range for a car with 79,000 miles that is not destined to be a 100 point concours winner.

I must have been asleep in May. My brother bought his in December 2002 for $52,000 and put another $12,000 into it with brakes, full suspension, heads and valve job. Now he has a very decent car and a great driver. It may be a while before those two 365's sell from Heritage.
