Searching for a GTC/4
Yang Gang: I am still searching for a nice GTC/4, prefer a Euro version but not hard over, better if its an older restoration, better yet if its not resale red. Would very much appreciate any leads, I am not selling #9727, Michael Bayer

GTC/4
Thanks, but for now I am hoping to find one here in the States so I can get hands and eyes on it. My experience searching for years for the right 330 confirmed my friend Ned Lawler's advice: (right hand drive Series II 330 owner since the early 80's) enjoyably owning a Ferrari is much like preparing a good meal, its 90% shopping 10% preparation. My work schedule won't allow the time for getting there. Michael Bayer 330GT Series II #9727

Searcing fro a GTC/4
Hello Michael
The GTC/4 advertised by Charles Schmitt (Item 4508674415 on E Bay) appears a good price by European prices but I obviously paid too much for mine!!!
The price is reduced by $10000 from his previous unsuccessful advert.
The pics seem to show a decent car & the interior looks quite nice,or is there something I don't know?
Is it not even worth a look-even if it is red
Regards

Searching...
Alan: Thanks for the heads up, I agree, and will keep looking, most of the cars I have found (50-55K US) are resale red repaints, to my eyes unbecoming on this model, and are burdened with 15 years and $20,000 worth of deferred maintainance. The recently sold cars I have seen on the East Coast are soon to have several very surprised new owners when they take them to their local dealer for a "little tune up". C4 on Ebay – $49,000 seem like a really good price. With several people looking for a C4, I do not understand why this one is sill out there, could it be the color?
I once test-drove a black C4 in Denver. It had not been worked on for several years and the carburetors had gummed up, consequently, it ran poorly. I saw this as an opportunity to negotiate. Unfortunately, Ferrari of Denver believed that “running well” should not be valued by a collector of fine European automobiles - we could not agree on a price.
One point of clarity, I could be wrong, but I believe that Daytona star (wheels) are aluminum? Does anyone know different?

This looks to be one of the more complete C/4's I've seen. Even the AIR system (original equipment on all US cars) seems to be all there. But it is quite dirty under the hood, below the hasty rag wipe down. And the universal clamp-on battery cables are a distraction, but that is a really minor point.
There is one chrome knob on the console (aft of the radio) that shouldn't be there. I wonder what it's for?
