Sold 330 GTC

Post by Joel Benatar »

Hi Tom
Just to let you know that I have sold my 330 GTC (9055). So you might want to take it out of the Owners Gallery. I replaced it with a more modern V12 namely a 550 Maranello. I am having a lot of fun driving this car. I actually took it up to Pebble Beach this year for the Ferrari display. I will definetly keep using your site as I find it one of the more exciting things to look at when I log onto my computer. Hope you and all the others on the site have a wonderful holiday season.

Joel,

Sorry to hear and congratulations!

Is the new owner also a Tom Yang fan?

What's the difference in your insurance premiums? :-)

How do people react to the 550, compared to the 330? It's kinda nice not being particularly noticed in my noisy old "Fiat" (330GTS). Do you get treated more like a Camaro owner, or Porsche?

Hi Guys
Firstly the car was soldd through Gary Bobileff Motors. The insurance for the new 550 is at $1200 per yer compared to $600 for the 330 GTC. As for the acceptance of cars the 550 turns heads from mostly anyone where the 330 was really appreciated by people that know about cars. When I first got the 550 there was no Tubi exhaust on it. When I drove it at that stage it was only the looks that turned people on. Now that I have installed the exhaust it is also the sound that people are turned too. As a matter of interest prior to installing the exhaust, installing K& N air filter and changing the oil we got 388 Hp at the wheels on the Dyno. After the installation we are getting 417 Hp at the wheels. Pretty cool. One of the biggest advantages is the fact that my wife has stopped complaining about the smell of gas in the garage which goes through to the rest of the house. Once i get hold of the new owner I definetly will persuade him to get onto this website. It is great.
Thanks
Joel

I was starting to get a little worried that I was the only one that gets to hear the wife complaining about the smell of gas and exhaust fumes in the garage.
Enjoy your new toy!!!

Hi Joel,

Congratulations on your new car. I'm sure it's a totally different animal than that GTC. Good luck with it, and I'm glad you still find this site interesting. Perphaps someday you'll return to the "Vintage" fold!
