The instruments don't look right either.

I didn't on first look. The instruments look auto-supply store, the seats look maybe late 60's Corvette or GM generic, and I don't think the wheels are Borranis. The description says new drivetrain; I wonder if this includes the differential and rear axle. It also looks at first glance like some body trim has been removed, and the jackholes filled in.

Now at $17,600.00, 17 bids. Any guesses on reserve? If one did want buy this and turn it back into a Ferrari --330 engine, 6 carbs perhaps, 5 speed-- at least it would make a decent driver while acquiring all the pieces.

It'll be a lot cheaper to keep it a Chev-rrari hot rod!

Intruments look very similar to the ones in my Jaguar E-type. Be nice to see it made whole again.

Make no mistake! It's a real Ferrari V12 under the hood. This is GM CEO, Roger Smith’s old car. Rumor has it that he wanted a Ferrari real bad but didn't want to betray his allegiance to GM. So he had his Ferrari's engine disguised to look just like a Chevy V8.

As most if not all all plated parts (expect window trim, off course) are incorrect replacements, it is quite obvious that this car may have been parted out once in its earlier life. The question that remains: was the bodyshell then kept on original chassis or was it put on a GM-based replacement chassis?

Best wishes, Kare

Mid-60's Corvette, maybe? Those are very odd wheels, like an aftermarket wire for old Vettes. They resemble Borranis but don't think they are.

$30,099.00, 18 bids, reserve not met. My guess is $50K and they won't get it.

Good question, kare.

The GM chassis that would fit the closest would be an early Corvette. It would be a barely noticeble 0.4 inches shorter, but some 4 inches wider in track, which it doesn't look like it is.

Modifying the Corvette frame to fit and support the Ferrari body would be pretty difficult. Anyone willing to do that properly could do a much better job on the rest of the car.

I would think that someone simply welded in the engine and transmission mounts onto the original chassis.

The tail lights are wrong too. The 250 pf coupe is one of my favorite cars. In my opinion, nothing looks right about the car.

And whats the deal with the rear luggage shelf. It looks in the picture like the shelf has been removed.

Interesting point about a different chassis. Both bumpers look to be mounted too low also.

Suffice it to say that this car has been abused in so many ways over the years that it's unlikely that much of anything from the original 250 PF has survived beyond some of the body panels and frame.
