My engine runs okay without any unusual noises but I would like to make sure that the chain tension is correct. How do you know if the chain tension is correct? Thanks.

Timing Chain Tension.
Most people will say that you can hear it. I determined that mine was loose by running timing light on both banks. One bank, I think the Right, the marker "lept about" under the light, while the other bank was steady. After tensioning up the chain both banks were the same.
So, I would check the timing before I adjusted the tensioner.
