The teflon-lined bike cable is a great idea! I will be rebuilding the heater box in my BMW 2002 in the next few weeks, and I will definitely use this tip when doing so. As an aside, I'm so glad our old cars have simple and effective cable controls for the heating and ventilation system. I can't imagine trying to restore one of todays electronic control panels!

I remember worrying about electronic fuel injection, and yet today, people seem very comfortable swapping out EFI systems, remapping proms, and all sorts of stuff. I guess it's just what you're used to. I feel that I live in a world of complicated machinery, so messing around with old technology is comforting!
