I am looking for new fans also for my 400 (in the UK). I had one of mine fail a couple of weeks ago when one of the wires on the bushes broke. I bought new bushes from a local parts supplier. They matched my old ones pretty accurately and they are easy to modify, just make sure the ones you buy are too big and shave the carbon brush down with a sharp knife. The bushes cost me £2 ($3) and worked fine.

My fans are 4 inches long and 3 inches across. I am looking for a pair of replacements now. The originals are 25 years old so it seems prudent. Are yours this size? Mine are held in place by a circular clamp, that then bolts to the mounting brackets.

Living in London I'm sure I can find replacement Lucas fans, I just need to identify what other cars used these either as radiator fans or as heater motors.

I heard that T. Rutlands in Atlanta, Ga. had the fans for a 400 at around $200 each (ouch!!).
