On the 330 and 365 (and maybe others) there is a rubber hose section on the oil pickup tube in the crankcase. Does anyone have a recommendation as to what material to use here (or not use)? The original appears to be nitrile, and has not aged well. How about Viton? Does anyone know of a source for that?
Thanks

I totally agree with your concern over this connector. My 330 engine is currently apart and this piece is as hard as a rock. I am also interested in a suggestion on a replacement material.

I used a piece of aeroquip (or maybe it was Earls) braided steel slipped over the tubes with hose clamps right at the ends to keep the wire braiding from unravelling. Its worked ok so far (10 or 12 years) tim
