For what its worth : I found that cutting a piece of lambs wool that has hide backing , in a 1" square and attaching it to a dremal works well for polishing black plastic gauges.It fits inside of the gauge. The temperture due to friction that can damage to the plastic is cool enough, if just the lambs wool fibers are in contact. I purchased white rouge compound by Columbian in stick form at Home Depot.It has a very fine grit in a wax form. Do not use a large grit - it will cause damage. Have fun!
